EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Ellen Christensen, an occupational therapist, has joined Luther Midelfort in Eau Claire. She has worked for the last year as an occupational therapist at Luther Midelfort Oakridge in Osseo.

Christensen received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Minnesota. She has completed internships providing acute care and outpatient neurological rehabilitation at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., and inpatient behavioral health rehabilitation at Regions Hospital, also in St. Paul.
Occupational therapists specialize in reducing pain or restoring movement, strength or function to maximize patient independence and overall quality of life after an injury or surgery.
“I love my job as an occupational therapist because I get to help patients regain their independence. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun to get to know so many new people. It’s really a rewarding profession,” Christensen said.
